Terms of Use
1. Educational purpose
Everything Martian Horizon offers — the Martian calendar, the Earth–Mars time converter, the 3D orbital map, the Control Room and the data shown — is for educational and astronomy outreach purposes.
2. Nature of the calculations
- The MH-STD-001 Martian calendar is this project’s own civil standard; it is not an official calendar of any space agency.
- Planetary positions, trajectories, launch windows, seasons (Ls) and signal delays are computed with simplified models: they are educational approximations, not precision ephemerides.
- The Mars Atlas is a futuristic, fictional vision of Mars’s development around Martian year 100: its cities, roads, ports, regions and populations are invented and have nothing to do with reality, although certain original names and the planet’s real relief have been used as a base.
- The sections on missions, images, relief and figures of Mars are based on real data from agencies and scientific sources, rounded and simplified for outreach; the calendar is the author’s creation and the fictional parts are identified as such.
- Nothing shown should be used for planning real missions, navigation or other critical decisions.
